Sadie is a bunny rabbit with a crocheted hat. She is inspired by, and named after, a little girl who lives with her Mom and Dad at Oyster River Winegrowers in Warren, Maine. Their vineyard and farm is open for tours and tasting! Besides great wines, they also have fresh seasonal produce, eggs, and goat cheese.
Leavitt is a sweet wolf dog with a bandana. He also has a knitted hat with custom ear holes. His pants are rolled up because he likes to stomp in the mud.
This is Annette. Annette is wearing a hand knitted sweater and crocheted cap. Annette's sweater is made from Hope Spinnery yarn, which is a wind-powered fiber mill in Hope, Maine. Annette is the first doll I made when I decided to start making rag dolls. She is also currently the only human doll.
Pillow Tree is based in Midcoast Maine. We are committed to making beautiful dolls, for children and grown-ups alike, with as little negative impact on the environment as possible. Pillow Tree Rag Dolls are made by hand from salvaged and natural materials. We use second hand fabric in the form of old clothes, bed linens, and more. The fabric, thread, and yarn scraps from the cutting process are reused as stuffing, so nothing ends up in the landfill. Once a piece of fabric has been used up we may never see one like it again, and, because of this, each doll is absolutely unique.
